Now that you have delicious Majestic Farms Blueberries, what are some fun foods to make with them? We asked our very own Farmer Jeff Moys, owner and chief farmer of Majestic Farms Blueberries, who loves making ice cream, to share with us his recipe for Homemade Blueberry Ice Cream! Farmer Jeff’s Homemade Blueberry Ice Cream Ingredients 1-1/2 cup heavy cream 15 oz. Majestic Farms Blueberries 3/4 cup sugar 1/8 Tsp. salt 1 cup whole milk 1 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice Directions Combine blueberries, sugar, and salt in a saucepan. Heat mixture over medium-high heat until sugar dissolves while stirring occasionally. Continue heating blueberry mixture until it comes to a boil. Reduce heat. Simmer for an additional 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Cool for 20 minutes. Puree blueberry mixture in a blender. Combine blueberry mixture, heavy cream, milk and lemon juice in a large bowl. Cover ice cream base with plastic wrap. Chill ice cream base in refrigerator overnight. Pour ice cream base into an ice cream maker. Process ice cream according to manufacturer’s directions.

Come enjoy a day of music, community, blueberries, and show off your baking skills at the Hockinson Blueberry Fest on Saturday from 9am-2pm at the Hockinson Community Education lot. The Homemade Blueberry Pie Contest is sponsored by Majestic Farms Blueberries! Contestants can receive 2lbs of FREE berries from us for this competition. All they need do is call the farm and schedule a day to pick them up. To enter the pie baking contest: -On Saturday, July 15th bring your homemade pies to the welcome booth between 9-10am -Complete registration form with name and phone number -Include copy of pie recipe with list of ingredients Homemade Blueberry Pie Contest Rules: – We’re looking for the best classic blueberry pie that the Hockinson community can offer, not a cobbler, tart or cheesecake. -Contest is open to bakers of any age. -Pies must be entered in the name of the person who made it. -Contestants can enter only one pie. -Each pie must be made from scratch and based in a 9”-10” pie plate/pan. You may not use pre-made store brought crust -Label the bottom of pie plate/pan with name and phone number Judging: Pies will be rated on overall appearance, crust, filling, and flavor.
